Admitted to Practice in New Jersey

Meet the founder

Her connection to this work started three generations ago.

Lori Vergara is a proud Puerto Rican and a fluent Spanish speaker. Her interest in immigration law began long before she became an attorney, through the stories of her grandparents and the challenges they faced after arriving in Spanish Harlem from Puerto Rico in the 1940s. Their experience shaped her appreciation for the courage it takes to build a new life, and for the importance of having an advocate who treats every person with dignity.

“An immigration case is rarely just a case. It affects a client’s family, livelihood, security, and future.”

She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Fordham University and her Juris Doctor from New York Law School in 2015. During law school she concentrated much of her work on issues affecting children and families, and served in an immigration clinic representing unaccompanied minors. Today she brings the same care to every client relationship: listening carefully, communicating honestly, and advocating vigorously.

Sandra Vergara

Practice Manager

Sandra is the Practice Manager of the firm. She is in charge of the day-to-day operations. As an experienced interpreter, she assists in intake and translating legal documents. She is integral to the team and is another friendly voice you’ll hear when calling the office.

Pedro "Peter" Vergara

Founding Inspiration

A Tribute to Dad

My father’s sacrifices made it possible for me to attend law school, become an attorney, and ultimately found Vergara Law. From him, I learned the value of hard work, perseverance, and service to others. He found joy in helping people, and that same spirit is at the heart of the work I do today.

Vergara Law is, in many ways, a continuation of his legacy.
